Katie Weston is an award winning stage actress, singer, musician, composer, theatre director and teacher. She studied Music Composition at the VCA before completing a Master of Music (Performance & Teaching) at Melbourne University's Conservatorium of Music, majoring in Contemporary Voice & Musical Theatre. She works relentlessly as a lead singer and keyboardist for live bands and corporate events around Australia as well as directs, musically directs and choreographs theatre productions for secondary schools. As an actor, Katie's most recent theatre credits include Principle Swing for Eddie Perfect’s “Vivid White” at Melbourne Theatre Company and starring as Cathy Hyatt in a brand new, critically acclaimed production of Jason Robert Brown’s “The Last Five Years” at Melbourne's MC Showroom. Katie has won two Victorian Music Theatre Guild Awards for Best Lead Actress in her roles as Mary Magdalene in CLOC's “Jesus Christ Superstar” (2016) and Roxie Hart in WMTC's “Chicago” (2013). Other leading role credits include: Sally Bowles in “Cabaret”, Elizabeth Lavenza in “Frankenstein: A New Musical” Australian Premiere (WMTC), Celisse in “Godspell” (Magnormos) and Maureen in “RENT” (Whitehorse). Katie's debut original musical "Sugartown" was workshopped and presented in Sydney (New Musicals Australia) and at Chapel Off Chapel in Melbourne (StageArt). She is currently showcasing work from her new contemporary musical "Falling Forward" at Homegrown Australia events, with songs from the show receiving high acclaim. As a recording artist, Katie released her debut solo independent pop/rock EP "Say The Word" (2013) together with music video singles on iTunes, Youtube and Spotify worldwide.
